Of all the months in the year July is my absolute, hands-down favorite. There is always so much going on in July.
To start off the month, we finished getting Naomi's room a little more grown up for her. She decided that the purple accents weren't reflective of her current personality and she opted to change them all out for black. This meant redoing her desk. She absolutely loves the new look now.
July 2nd Power came out and did the pre-install meeting where they did the official measurements and set us all up. I can't believe how excited I am to FINALLY have a bathroom window that won't leak during rainstorms. It will also be nice to not have water come in under the sliding glass door as well. It was time to get it done.
July 3rd I dropped Nick off at Latta to do the workouts with the cross country team and then headed back towards home to get Jeremy to the foot doctor. He had an infected, in-grown toenail that needed some attention. I had to leave Jeremy at Dr. Garchar's office to go back and get Nick. By the time we got back to pick up Jeremy he was nice and numb and the offending toenail had been removed. I dropped the kids off at home and went to Kohls to use my Kohls Cash. I found the best thing ever!! If you know me at all you know that I LOVE watermelon! Check out what I found.

It yelled at me, jumped into my hands and threw a temper tantrum until I brought it home and filled it with watermelon chunks. I LOVE IT!!!!
July 4th, Nick had another run at Latta with the cross country team. I dragged Jeremy and Steve along with me to show them Buzzard Rock. They complained for the first little bit, but loved the view overlooking the lake. Naomi didn't come with us because she was home nursing a twisted ankle.

Look who we found on the trails! He is determined to make the Varsity team this year.
July 5th the kids helped me make more macarons for the bridal shower. We also put down some mulch in the front yard in an attempt to bring the yard back up to where it should be. That night Jeremy, Naomi and I went uptown to Vapiano's for dinner with friends before heading the CPCC to see the production of Beehive. It was a fun walk down memory lane with the songs of the 50s and 60s. We loved it.

We were in the back row of the bottom level, but the seats were perfect and amazing. There was no one behind us - LOVED IT!!
Sunday, July 7th was the bridal shower for Mimi Nowland. We had so much fun. Mimi is the Laurel leader in our ward and the laurels were so excited to get to help throw her a shower. They came up with all the games. Everyone had a great time celebrating Mimi.

Naomi helped me make with money tree. Everyone came and put their money so Mimi and Charles could have some cash for their honeymoon.
Lucy (daughter of the bride), The Laurels - Autumn, Kaylee, Ravyn and Celeste (seated on the bench) with Erica Weber in the front.

Yummy food
Erica is the just-right kind of crazy.
For the couple of days after the shower I spent time on the phone calling all my seminary students to let them know about the options for the coming year and see which option they would like to choose. I was surprised when the majority of the kids still wanted to do the early-morning, five days a week option over the online at home option. These are good kids.
I also helped iron the table cloths for Mimi's wedding. There were huge changes at Steve's work. Because of some restructuring, Steve lost one of his employees. She had been with Steve since the beginning and now he is going to have to figure out how to get along without her. Everyone lost someone from their team in an attempt to streamline the processes. I can see why it had to be done, but I hated to lose some good people. They had become family. Hopefully the new changes with truly make a big difference in customer relations and efficiency.
July 11th I drove a truck load of girls to youth conference at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, NC. It was a fun and gorgeous drive. They were all so excited to see who their roommates were and what their room looked like. I didn't leave until they were all settled (per THEIR request) which was fine with me because I got to take some pictures. They are going to have so much fun.

Heading out for lunch and the first activities.
Nick rode up with some of his friends so he wouldn't have to be in the truck with a bunch of girls. I saw him as I was heading back to the truck. He was excited and ready for some fun. When I got home, Jeremy was already gone with some of his friends for the afternoon/evening so I settled in to get caught up on the blog. I had been working for an hour or so when a good friend called and asked if I could come over. She was in a lot of pain and her husband was not home from work yet. She didn't want to be alone. Of course!!! I stopped what I was doing and got to spend some good time talking to her and distracting her until her husband got home and could take over.
July 12th I spent the morning weeding the iris (which really needed to be done). I took a break to go on a job hunt with Jeremy. We walked around the mall and asked if anyone was hiring. He has a couple of leads. Back at home I worked on the blog some more and started the DVD from Mom and Dad's anniversary party. That night was the Nowland/Bryant wedding. Mimi looked so happy!
July 13th I went back to Misenholder to pick up the kids. I only had Naomi and Aubri on the way home because the others got picked up early for a swim meet. They talked the whole way back about how much fun they had and the friends they made. Back at home I finished the DVD and did a little more job hunting with Jeremy. We had decided that all the jobs are being occupied by student home for the summer. Hopefully things will start to open up when everyone goes back to college in the fall.
July 18th Nick was a little late getting home from work and I was starting to worry when he finally walked in the door. He had crashed on his bike. His left side from his shoulder blade to his hip was missing a good amount of skin and he had a really deep abrasion on his left hand. We got him all cleaned up and ready for bed - complete with Tylenol. He slept really well.
July 19th we ran a lot of errands in prep for the beach. We took Nick's bike to REI to have them fix up the gear changer which had gotten bent in the accident. We also found some swim trunks that Nick liked. Since he has started running his thighs have gotten really muscly. It is hard to find trunks that fit him. SUCCESS at BJs.
It was a fun and hectic week getting everything ready for the beach, but it was SOOOOOO worth it. Head on to the next post and see all the fun we had during BEACH WEEK 2019!!
