July 4th we spent the afternoon at Donita's parent's house hanging out in the pool and enjoying some barbeque. I love hanging out with our neighbors in a relaxed atmosphere. We have fun and amazing neighbors.
July 5th I took dinner into a co-worker who's father had recently passed. She had been out of town for weeks taking care of everything that needed to be done for the funeral in Florida. It was good to see her and talk to her. The best thing was that I had chosen to make chicken and dumplings and she told me that was her father's favorite meal.
Once we returned from delivering dinner, we got ready for our weekend guests. Aleena and her family were staying with us so they could attend a concert series at Carowinds. It was going to be a fun two days with them in town.
July 6th Jeremy drove me to the library so I could get out of the house and save a little bit of my sanity. This being on crutches was getting really old and I needed a change of scenery.
July 8th Avian found out that they got all 5's on their AP tests. They also got their roommate assignment, which was totally messed up. They also did not get their dorm assignment in the Hive which is where they really wanted to live. Instead they are assigned to Chatham Hall which is more centrally located in Savannah. They will be right next to Forsyth Park. They are also working on a solution for the roommate mess up. Nick's car registration showed up so Steve and I delivered it to him and also took him out to dinner. It was a good time to catch up on what he has been doing.
July 9th, the roommate situation has been worked out. Everyone is rooming with the proper person now.
July 10th I gave a sewing lesson to Ella. Her mother goes to the same Bible study group as Lynne Reinstadtler. I had helped Lynne with a little sewing project earlier and so Lynne recommended me as a possible teacher for Ella. We were starting easy, with pajama pants.
July 13th, Steve and Nick spent the day at the beach. It was a a compromise for Nick not getting to go to the Outer Banks with us in June. They ended up going to Folly Beach because it was the only place on the coast that was not forecast to rain. They had a great time.
Avian spent the day getting their room organized and cleaned out which meant stomping on and recycling their two years worth of Monster cans that were stacked in their room.

| They sent me pictures so I would feel like I was there. I didn't go because I would have slowed them down. Stupid crutches. |
7/22 continued. I got the Promissory Note signed and things are all ready for the fall. Jeremy and I ordered pizza and had a good time talking and goofing off. Nick went to the dentist and found that he is a candidate for implants, but it is going to be a bit pricey. We will see what he decides to do. but $$$

July 23rd - I went for a follow-up visit with Matt. He said my knee is healing but I still need 4 more weeks on crutches. I wasn't too surprised as a tibial plateau fracture usually takes 12 weeks to heal properly. The skin sample came back as being positive for basal cell carcinoma. I scheduled an appointment to have it removed on August 13th. I feel like I am falling apart! Out of the blue, Laura Arias brought me a watermelon from Trisha's garden to cheer me up. She is such a good friend. Also, Avian found out that they got 35 credit hours for all their AP credits. That makes them almost a sophomore. WooHoo!
July 26th Steve turned 57. We watched the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. It was really cool because the parade of athletes and the show happened all along the Seine River. It ended at the Eiffel Tower. It was pretty cool to watch.
July 27th we watched more of the Olympics while fixing Steve's birthday dinner. Steve and Avian took a break and went dorm accessory shopping. That evening, Nick came over to help celebrate Steve's birthday.
July 29th I needed to get out again so Steve took me on a little drive he had recently discovered. It was magical. I called it the rainbow drive.

July 31st there was a Relief Society pool party at the Arias house. Nancy came with me as it was our official stake RS presidency visit for the University City ward. It was a fun night. The ladies in UC really know how to have some fun.
